Sea Salt Information
Water quality is one of the most vitally important components in marine aquarium keeping. To ensure perfect conditions of aquarium inhabitants there is instant seawater available on the market. As an alternative, there is also an abundance of synthetic saltwater mixes that are more popular for industrial and commercial use.
 When choosing a saltwater mix there are certain things to consider: approximation of natural seawater, solubility, reputation of the brand, and price. After the seawater mix is selected, it should be re-hydrated. It is important to remember that most community water systems contain some levels of nitrates and phosphates, both of which can be damaging for marine life. To improve water quality it is recommended to use filter or at least de-chlorinator, AmQuel+, for the water.
Salinity
Salt dissolved into the water creates specific gravity, or less directly salinity. The target for specific gravity is generally accepted as between 1.020 and 1.025 for marine life. Hydrometer is used to measure salinity. It helps the user to consistently maintain water at the same level of salinity. Maintaining a stable, high pH between 7.0-8.0 is also very favorable for the animals.
Poseidon Sea Salt
Poseidon saltwater mix ( Sea Salt ) is one of the best currently available on the market. The saltwater mix compound include the following ingredients:

Mixed together it is very similar to natural seawater. To achieve the proper salinity it is recommended to mix 1 pound of Poseidon Sea Salt with 4 gallons of water.
